Contrary to popular belief, still to this day the gap between men's and women's salaries in sports is incredibly large. It is unfair to the women that are going out and working just as hard or harder as their male counterpart and not making the same amount of money. It is reasons like this that discourage women to even try and pursue sports once they hit high school or college. They know that there is no solid future in their given sport.
